Apart from tear gas, which can be seen in the footage, Israeli forces reportedly used live ammunition against protesters, who responded with slingshots. According to the Gazan Health Ministry, around 300 protesters were injured in Friday's protest.

The series of protests known as the March of Return were launched along the Gaza-Israel border on March 30 to demand the right for people to return to their pre-1948 homes.
