Iran routs Kuwait 7-0 in Asia Pacific Deaf Football Championships

The Iran men's national deaf soccer team has recorded its second successive win in the group stage of the fourth edition of Asia Pacific Deaf Football Championships in South Korea, dominating the Kuwaiti side.

On Tuesday, the Iranian squad stormed past Kuwait 7-0 in a Group B match played at the Changwon Center Stadium in South Korea’s southeastern city of Changwon.

Iran took an early lead only seven minutes into the match, when Alireza Basih buried the ball at the back of the opposite side’s net.

Ali Akbar Ahmadvand was on target in the 16th minute of the fixture, before Abdulmahdi Hamouri tacked Iran’s third goal of the day six minutes later.

Ahmadvand scored his second in 25th minute and put Iran 4-0 in front.

In the 35th minute, Iman Mohebbi took advantage of a marvelous opportunity and extended Iran’s lead to five goals.

Mostafa Rahim Redowsnejad also scored two goals in the 37th and 66th minutes respectively.

The Iran men's national deaf soccer team is slated to face Oman in its next showdown on Wednesday.

The fourth edition of Asia Pacific Deaf Football Championships kicked off on April 23, and will wrap up on May 7, 2018.

Iran is pitted against Kuwait, Oman, Saudi Arabia and Thailand in Group B.

Japan, Malaysia, South Korea and Uzbekistan are drawn in Group A of the event.
