Israeli soldiers have shot dead a Palestinian man during clashes at the fence along the besieged Gaza Strip as the Tel Aviv regime forces launched a bloody crackdown on an anti-occupation protest in the Palestinian enclave.

The Hamas-run Gaza Health Ministry said on Thursday that the shooting took place east of the southern Gaza town of Khan Yunis. The ministry named the victim as Abdullah al-Shahari, 28.

Earlier on Thursday, one Palestinian was killed and another wounded in an Israeli airstrike on the Palestinian enclave. The casualties occurred as Israeli fighter jets carried out raids on Shujaiyya district in eastern Gaza.

Following the bombing, Israeli battle tanks also targeted several positions of the Palestinian resistance movement Hamas in the Gaza Strip.

The latest casualties come ahead of a third consecutive Friday of planned mass protests against the Tel Aviv regime along the border between the Gaza Strip and the Israeli-occupied Palestinian territories.

More than 30 Palestinians have been killed and hundreds wounded by Israeli forces since March 30 as thousands have approached the fence and clashes have erupted.

Palestinians say protesters are being shot while posing no threat to soldiers.
