Afghan woman whose husband was killed by Taliban serves as police officer
When Shokria Jan's husband, a police officer in the southern Afghan province of Kandahar, was killed by the Taliban three years ago, she had four children to care for.
The 35-year-old decided to follow in her husband's footsteps to provide for her family.
"I decided to join the police in order to earn an income to raise my four kids, as well as to contribute to serving my country," she explained.
