Heated protests erupt in Brazil over public transport price hike

Brazil's biggest city Sao Paulo has been the scene of heated protests on Wednesday over the increase of prices in public transport section.

According to local media, protesters attacked a bank and blocked the path of a bus after authorities in Sao Paulo approved a fare hike that could see a ticket on the bus and metro cost nearly 7 real (or approximately $2.17 USD). For a country still grappling with a fledging economy, the price increase has rattled locals.
