Indian forces kill Kashmiri woman, two pro-independence fighters in Shopian area

A woman has been killed during anti-India protests in disputed Kashmir following a gun battle that killed two pro-independence fighters. The fighting erupted after Indian troops cordoned off a village in the southern area of Shopian to arrest pro-independence fighters. Clashes continued between protesters and Indian troops who fired bullets, shotgun pellets and tear gas. Kashmir’s pro-independence leaders have called for a strike to protest the recent civilian killings.
