An activist says US President Donald Trump's recognition of Jerusalem al-Quds as the Israeli capital has removed the mask from Washington's "real" policy on the regime.

“This is an apartheid system, abusive system, it is committing war crimes and it is being financed and free arms given to it by the United States. So really this policy is no different to previous policies, but it actually goes out exposing and removing the mask from the real policy of the United States,” Massoud Shadjareh, head of the Islamic Human Rights Commission, told Press TV in an interview on Friday.

In a speech at the White House on Wednesday, Trump officially declared Jerusalem al-Quds as Israel's capital, saying his administration would also begin a possibly years-long process of moving the American embassy in Tel Aviv to the holy city.
