Iranian freestyle wrestlers pocket three medals in Senior U23 World Championships

Iranian freestyle wrestlers have exhibited acceptable displays of grappling skills and athletic talents at the Senior U23 World Championships, and collected three medals, including one gold, during the international sports event.

On Sunday, Mojtaba Mohammadshafie Goleij overwhelmed his Belarusian opponent Dzianis Khramiankou 10-0 in his final bout of the 97-kilogram weight section in the northern Polish city of Bydgoszcz, and snatched the gold medal.

The achievements came on the same day that Yones Aliakbar Emamichoghaei and
Amin Hossein Taheri picked up two bronze medals in the 65-kilogram and 125-kilogram classes.

The Senior U23 World Championships kicked off on November 21, and ran through November 26, 2017.

The tournament brought together dozens of freestyle and Greco-Roman wrestlers from various world countries, including Azerbaijan, Belarus, Finland, France, Georgia, Hungary, the Islamic Republic of Iran, Japan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Lithuania, Moldova, Poland, Romania, Russia, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey and the United States.
