Madrid rejects Catalonia's appeal to lift suspension of referendum reform

Spain's Constitutional Court has rejected an appeal by Catalonia's government to lift the suspension of reform regulations that fast-track the referendum on independence. Catalan officials insist they will go ahead with the vote planned to be held on October the first despite fierce opposition from the central government.
