Turkish club Fenerbahce have inflicted an embarrassing 2-1 defeat on Manchester United, leaving Jose Mourinho's side in danger of failing to qualify for the knockout stages of the Europa League.

The Turkish outfit took an early lead when their French striker Moussa Sow delivered a devastating overhead volley over United’s David de Gea and in the back of the net.

Things got even worse for the visitors as the Red Devils saw the world's most expensive player Paul Pogba sidelined with a leg injury in the first half. 10 minutes after the interval and the hosts doubled the advantage when Jeremain Lens came from behind the ball to drill a superb effort inside the near post.

With a minute to go, Wayne Rooney smashed in a pile driver from distance, which did no more than just reducing the deficit, as the Turkish club were able to hold on to the win, taking the vital 3 point.
