Israeli forces shoot, injure 3 Palestinian youths in Gaza Strip
Israeli military forces have reportedly shot and wounded three young Palestinian men in the blockaded Gaza Strip near the border with the occupied Palestinian territories.
Palestinian sources, speaking on condition of anonymity, said the Israeli forces opened fire on a group of unarmed Palestinian youths demonstrating against the Tel Aviv regime east of the Bureij refugee camp on Friday afternoon, Arabic-language al-Aqsa satellite television network reported.
Three young Palestinian men sustained gunshot wounds and were taken to Shuhada al-Aqsa Hospital in the city of Deir al-Balah, located over 14 kilometers (8.7 miles) south of Gaza City.
The development came less than a day after nearly a dozen Palestinian youths were injured as Israeli undercover agents and soldiers stormed al-Mazraa al-Gharbiyeh village in the occupied West Bank to arrest Tareq Rabie, a former member of a student group affiliated to the Hamas resistance movement.
Violence broke out when young Palestinians protested the arrest and engaged in clashes with the Israeli forces, who fired live bullets in return and injured at least 11 of the men.
The occupied Palestinian territories have been the scene of heightened tensions since August 2015, when Israel imposed restrictions on the entry of Palestinian worshipers into the al-Aqsa Mosque compound in East al-Quds (Jerusalem).
Palestinians say the Tel Aviv regime seeks to change the status quo of the sacred site.
More than 220 Palestinians have lost their lives at the hands of Israeli forces amid the tensions since the beginning of last October.
