Euro 2016: England, Russia share 1-all draw in Marseille

England vs Russia.

The Euro 2016 Football Championship is in Full Swing in France, where the Opening Round of Fixtures in Group B has seen England and Russia share the Spoils following a 1-all draw in Marseille, while Wales topped the Table following their 1st ever victory in the European Championship which came against Slovakia in Bordeaux.

The Three Lions enjoyed a bigger share of Possession during the first 45 minutes against Russia. However, they had no luck in front of goal with Adam Lallana and Captain Wayne Rooney creating two of their best opportunities in the first half.

Russia began the 2nd half BRIGHTLY with Fyodor Smolov trying his luck from 20 yards out in the 63rd minute, but his effort missed Joe Hart’s goal by INCHES.

Rooney was denied by a great save from Russia’s Keeper Akinfeev with 20 minutes remaining in the match, but England finally broke the deadlock 3 minutes later through a great free-kick by Eric Dier.

However, while it seemed that Roy Hodgson’s men were going to wrap-up a 1-nil win, Vasili Bere-zutski broke England’s Hearts in Stoppage Time by sending a looping header over Hart and into the back of the net for the Equalizer. So 1-1 the final score, and the 2 teams shared the points.
