FBI fabricates terror threats justify existence: Activist

Paul Larudee: “They want to do this in order to strike fear into the American people.”

The US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and other agencies fabricate terrorist threats in order to justify their existence, rather than to protect Americans, a political commentator and activist in San Francisco says.

Paul Larudee, the Iranian-born American activist involved with the International Solidarity Movement and was a founder of the Free Gaza Movement and the Free Palestine Movement, made the remarks in a phone interview with Press TV on Friday.

The FBI said on Thursday that foiled attacks planned to kill Americans around the Fourth of July.

FBI Director James Comey said that more than 10 people in the month before the Independence Day holiday who were inspired by the ISIL terrorist group’s online recruitment were arrested.

“We have actually no evidence that the FBI is doing anything. They want to say that they are on the job, and that they’re preventing attacks. It doesn’t prove anything to say that nothing happened and therefore we are doing a great job. Nonsense!” Larudee said.

“The FBI has proven that it can fabricate all kinds of events. So, in this case, they could fabricate that there were going to be attacks, they warned in advance that they were going to be attacks and then there were no attacks. So what does that prove?” he added.

“For the FBI and the intelligence services and the military intelligence and the CIA, and most of all the National Security Agency to fabricate threat against the United States and the American people, that’s what they do,” he stated.

“They want to do this in order to strike fear into the American people. [They] never mind about people around the world. They want to strike fear into the American people, because fear makes Americans or any people, it makes them run to the government for protection,” the activist noted.

“So this is what they are doing. They have all of the millions, billions and trillions of telephone calls that have been recorded, monitored and analyzed; they have proven less than a few dozen that appear to have some connection with danger to the American people,” he pointed out.

“The conclusion must be that they are doing it in order to justify their existence, rather than to protect anyone in this country,” the political commentator emphasized.

“The United States has been allied with ISIL/ISIS, the Islamic State in Iraq, al-Qaeda, going back decades,” he observed.

“So, they have been in alliance with the worst terrorists on the face of the earth unless you want to call the United States the worst terrorist on the earth when they are plenty of justification for that,” Larudee stressed.

US authorities had put local law enforcement on alert for possible attacks around the July 4 Independence Day holiday. But, no terrorist attacks took place.

ISIL had called on its followers to do what they could wherever they could to launch violent attacks on behalf of the terrorist group. The FBI chief had called the ISIL tactic as "crowd sourcing terrorism".

The ISIL terrorists, who were initially trained by the CIA in Jordan in 2012 to destabilize the Syrian government, have beheaded three American, two British and two Japanese hostages in recent months. The videos of their beheadings were posted online.
