ISIL attack kills 5 Fajr Libya militants in NW Libya
At least five militants of the Fajr Libya (Libya Dawn) have been killed in an attack claimed by the ISIL Takfiri terrorists in northwestern Libya.
The attack occurred early Sunday when a car bomber blew himself up near Dafniya checkpoint between the town of Zliten and the city of Misrata, the Fajr Libya spokesman said.
He added that seven members of the Fajr Libya were also injured in the attack.
The LANA News Agency, which is close to militants controlling the Libyan city of Tripoli, also gave a similar account of the attack.
The ISIL terrorist group claimed responsibility for the attack on its Twitter account and identified the bomber as a Tunisian named Abu Wahib al-Tunsi.
Fajr Libya militants took over the African country’s capital, Tripoli, last summer. They set up their own government and reinstated the General National Congress (GNC), which had been dissolved earlier. Misrata is a power base for the Fajr Libya militia.
Libya plunged into chaos after the ouster of longtime dictator, Muammar Gaddafi in 2011, which gave rise to a patchwork of heavily-armed militias and deep political divisions.
