A new protest has once again erupted in the US city of Baltimore over the alleged police shooting of another black man while taking him into custody.
The alleged shooting by the police resulted in protests Monday with security forces spraying pepper gas at the protesters who were angry after the man was injured in the gunfire.
There are conflicting reports about the incident. According to some witnesses, police shot the unarmed African-American man after chasing him.
However, police claimed the victim was carrying a handgun and as they were trying to arrest him, he fell and his gun went off.
A senior Baltimore police officer told reporters that paramedics had put man into an ambulance as a precautionary measure.
"No one was injured," the officer said. "Nowhere on his body does he have a gunshot wound."
Protesters on Monday chanted, "Black community, control the police!"
Some police officers wearing helmets and carrying shields formed a line across North Avenue as crowds were shouting "Control the police!" at the officers with some protesters briefly blocking traffic.

Sen. Catherine Pugh, a Democrat whose district includes the area where the incident took place, said police should use different enforcement tactics in order to reduce tension.
"I think we need to keep police presence down at this time, especially in this area," said Pugh. "I think we ought to just dial it back a little. Let's give the community a chance to heal."
The Monday protests come just after the rage over the death of Freddie Gray in police custody appeased.
Baltimore has been the scene of violent protests with demonstrators demanding justice for Gray.
Baltimore's chief prosecutor Marilyn J. Mosby said the six officers involved in the incident were charged in the high-profile death of Gray.
The killing of several unarmed black men by white police officers in recent months and decisions by grand juries not to indict the officers have triggered large-scale protests across the country.
