Lebanon commemorates 1996 Qana Massacre by Israel

On April 18th 1996, Israeli warplanes shelled a United Nations base in the southern Lebanese town of Qana killing over 100 people, in what is known as one of the most horrid massacres of the modern times.Mohammad Ja’afar was an interpreter for the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon --UNIFIL--and a survivor of the Israeli aggression. He says he never forgets that bloody afternoon.Head of the Lebanese Association for the Disabled tells press TV that Israeli terrorism is only one facet of the international terrorism.

There were Lebanese families who lost up to 30 relatives in that massacre, which by the way was condemned internationally.This old lady survived with her two granddaughters. She believes that the liberation of south Lebanon and the continuous victories of the resistance, were blessed by the blood of the innocent martyrs of Qana.

Married with children today, one of her granddaughter says she remembered everything once she returned to Qana.19 years on, the survivors of Qana massacre still remember their loved ones. Today as they see the innocent victims of Saudi aggression of Yemen, they realize that it is all about one war that aims to break the resolve of people who refuse to surrender until they emerge victorious.
