1 On the 18th day of Saudi Arabia's onslaught on Yemen, warplanes have targeted a residential area in the southwestern city of Taizz. Nearly a dozen people were killed and 20 others wounded in the bombardment. Most of the victims were children.

2 Iraqi media say the ISIL Takfiri group have stormed four villages around the city of Mosul and abducted nearly 120 students. The schoolchildren were between the age of 12 and 15. The ISIL terrorists usually kill those they kidnap or use them as slaves.

3 The ISIL has posted online a video of its members destroying artifacts in Iraq's city of Nimrud. The footage shows them using bulldozers and explosives on the ruins of the ancient city. Archeologists say the ISIL destroys pieces that are impossible to sell. It relies on trafficking as a source of financing.

4 A US drone strike in Afghanistan's northeastern province of Kunar has left at least three people dead. Local police say the attack targeted a group of Taliban militants including their commander. Washington claims that its aircraft target terrorists, but locals say civilians are the main victims of the attacks.

5 People in Japan are voting to elect governors, mayors, and local assembly members. The second round of the nationwide elections is scheduled for late April. The vote is regarded as a test for Prime Minister Shinzo Abe’s efforts to enhance the economy.

6 A US police officer has accidentally shot dead an African American suspect in the state of Oklahoma. The 73-year-old officer took out his firearms and shot the suspect by mistake instead of using his Taser. The suspect was taken to a nearby hospital but died an hour later.

7 Palestine’s Hamas movement says it won't give up resistance against Israel until all occupied territories are liberated. Hamas also announced its readiness to cooperate with the International Criminal Court as an official member. The Palestinian Authority officially joined the ICC on April 1st which enables Palestinians to sue Israel for war crimes.

8 Turkey has sent reinforcements to the southeastern Agri province after troops clashed with Kurdish militants, known as the PKK. Five PKK members were killed and four Turkish soldiers sustained injuries in the fighting. President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has condemned the Kurdish militants and accused them of seeking to undermine the peace process.
