Scores of visitors, diplomats, lawmakers and artists met at the Embassy of Palestine in Argentina to commemorate the Palestinian Culture and Land Day.

The diplomatic mission hosted a whole day of celebrations, artistic events and exhibitions to give the attendees a glimpse of the Palestinian customs and traditions, and raise awareness about the Palestinian people's struggle against the Israeli occupation.

The event kicked off with the inauguration ceremony of the new Palestinian Ambassador who was warmly welcomed by the Muslim community.

The gathering became an excellent opportunity for hundreds of people to get to know more about the Palestinian literature, music and food.

Argentina was one of the first countries in Latin America to recognize Palestine as a free and independent state. The unprecedented decision then sparked a strong condemnation from Israel and local Zionist organizations and rapidly led to many other countries in the region to follow suit.

The Palestinian Land Day is observed every year in Argentina and around the world to honor the memory of Palestinian protesters killed by Israeli forces in March 1976. The protesters were killed and wounded while demonstrating against the Israeli occupation of their lands.
