Al-Khawaja’s hunger strike aimed at garnering attention: Analyst
Press TV has conducted an interview with Colin Cavell, a former lecturer at the University of Bahrain, to discuss the recent move by renowned Bahraini human rights activist Abdulhadi al- Khawaja to stage a hunger strike to protest his detention.
Cavell says staging a hunger strike is a risky method that is used to protest against the oppression of a specific government.
Through endangering his life, Cavell says, al-Khawaja is trying to draw the attention of people to his arbitrary detention.
