Press TV has interviewed Colin Cavell, a former lecturer at the University of Bahrain, to discuss a statement by a number of independent UN experts calling for the release of Sheikh Ali Salman, the secretary general of Bahrain’s main opposition party, al-Wefaq.

Cavell says such statements would finally change the policies of the regional actors and also countries such as the United States and Britain that are opposed to the democratic revolution of the people in Bahrain, adding that, at present, there are some significant divisions even inside the US government over supporting Persian Gulf Arab monarchies due to their lack of legitimacy.
