Here is a brief look at Press TV Newsroom's headlines from 09:00 GMT to 17:00 GMT, December 7, 2017.

West Bank clashes

Israeli forces have violently clashed with Palestinians in the occupied West Bank. They were out in the streets to denounce the US recognition of Jerusalem al-Quds as Israel's capital. Casualties have been reported after Israeli troops fired tear gas at the protesters in Bethlehem. Israel has deployed its forces in the occupied West Bank. That's in the wake of US President Donald Trump’s recognition of Jerusalem al-Quds as the Israeli capital. Anger is running high among Palestinians in the occupied territories and the besieged Gaza Strip over Trump’s recent move. Earlier, dozens of people were detained elsewhere in the occupied territories amid a general strike called by Palestinian factions. The Israeli regime forces have also clashed with Palestinian protesters in the southern Gaza city of Khan Yunis.

Palestinian fight against occupation

The leader of the Palestinian Resistance Movement, Hamas, has called for a new Intifada or uprising to liberate Palestine. In a live broadcast from the besieged Gaza Strip, Ismail Haniyeh pledged to continue the resistance against the Israeli occupation and aggression. Haniyeh condemned the US policy as provocative and unfair and described President Donald Trump’s recognition of Jerusalem al-Quds as the Israeli capital as a declaration of war. The Hamas leader noted that Jerusalem al-Quds has always faced American and Israeli threats but the latest US plot will fail to change the city’s status. He said it’s time for the Palestinians to come out of the Oslo Accord as Trump’s decision has already given a death knell to the so-called peace process. He added that the US decision is an aggression not only against the Palestinians but against Arabs and Muslims worldwide.

US pro-immigrant rally

People in Washington D.C. have staged a demonstration to protest against the termination of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program. It granted conditional residency and work permits to certain young illegal immigrants in the US. The protesters gathered in front of the Capitol Hill and chanted slogans in support of immigrants, calling on Senate Republicans to support the DACA program. Over two-hundred protesters were reportedly arrested. The demonstrators say immigrants protected under DACA should not be considered as illegal.

EU al-Quds warning

The US President’s declaration of Jerusalem al-Quds as Israel’s capital has drawn condemnation from world leaders and prominent politicians across the world. EU foreign policy chief, Federica Mogherini, has warned about the dire ramifications of Donald Trump’s move for the Middle East’s security and stability. French President Emmanuel Macron says he disapproves of the Trump administration's recognition of Jerusalem as Israel's capital, calling it a “unilateral decision”. British Foreign Secretary, Boris Johnson, also said the US move will not help resolve the Palestinian issue. Meanwhile, the Russian foreign ministry expressed "serious concern" over Trump's decision, saying it threatens security in the Middle East. Australian Foreign Minister Julie Bishop also said Canberra will not relocate its embassy to Jerusalem al-Quds.

Trump’s decision blowback

The leader of Lebanese resistance movement Hezbollah says Israel faces no obstacles in grabbing more Palestinian land following the US decision to recognize Jerusalem al-Quds as Israel’s capital. Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah says the Israeli regime, backed by the US, is trying to usurp Jerusalem al-Quds and all the property and belongings of the Palestinian people. He added that US President Donald Trump does not respect the international community and international treaties. Hezbollah’s leader stressed that the Trump administration’s move on al-Quds is another Balfour declaration, which led to Israel's creation in the wake of World War Two. He called on Arab and Islamic countries to cut off diplomatic ties with Israel. Nasrallah then called for widespread protests against Trump’s decision, and urged all Muslim nations to show solidarity with Palestinians.

Russia warning

Russia says the US move to recognize Jerusalem al-Quds as the capital of Israel risks aggravating the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
