New US shootings kill four, wound three

Four people have been confirmed dead and another three injured as a result of new shootings in the US States of Tennessee and Missouri.

The first shooting took place in north St. Louis, Missouri on Thursday afternoon where a man was fatally shot by an unknown shooter.

Two hours later at around 8 p.m. local time, another shooting rocked west St. Louis. According to police, a gunman opened fire on three people at a car wash, killing two of them. No details were released on the third victim’s condition.

US media noted that many shell casings were seen at the site of the shooting, signaling a significant number of gunshots.

Police are yet to make any arrests in relation to the incidents. The motives behind the shootings were also unknown.

Tennessee university shooting

Meanwhile, the Tennessee State University's campus in Nashville was the scene of another shooting late Thursday, where one person was killed and two others were hospitalized, according to police.

Police said the shooting broke out after an apparent dispute over a dice game at an outdoor courtyard.

The shooting was reported at around 11 p.m. and police were still investigating the incident. A university police dispatcher said the campus was on lockdown since 1 a.m.

Police cruisers were blocking off the entrance to the University.
