Gaza humanitarian crisis
As Gaza is grappling with worsening humanitarian conditions, two Palestinian children have died as a result of extreme cold. An infant and a 9-year-old girl lost their lives in Gaza City. Their deaths come as heavy rainfall and strong winds have been ravaging displacement camps in the Gaza Strip. Amid deteriorating humanitarian conditions, the Palestinian territory continues to witness Israel’s ceasefire violations. There were fresh attacks on the al-Bureij refugee camp in central Gaza, while Israeli warplanes struck parts of Gaza City. Khan Yunis in the south saw Israeli attacks as well.
Israel Lebanon aggression
The Israeli regime continues to violate the ceasefire agreement with Lebanon, as it carries out fresh acts of aggression against the Arab country. Israeli airstrikes have targeted several areas in southern Lebanon. The eastern Beqaa valley was hit in the new attacks as well. Israeli media claim that the strikes targeted a Hezbollah training compound. No casualties have been reported yet. Since the truce took effect in November 2024, more than 340 people have been killed in Lebanon as a result of Israeli attacks.
"Israel given security exceptionalism"
President Pezeshkian says the Israeli aggression against Iran in June was the result of a special privilege granted to the Tel Aviv regime. Speaking at the International Peace and Trust Forum in Turkmenistan’s capital, Pezseshkian slammed the world powers for creating a framework of security exceptionalism for Israel. He added that based on that exceptionalism and injustices, the Israeli regime dared to attack Iran in June, killing hundreds of civilians. The Iranian president emphasized that NO country, even the world powers, should act beyond international norms and laws. He stressed Tehran’s support for any effort that strengthens peace, security and global development. The Ashgabat forum marking the International Year of Peace and Trust, hosts UN member states, bodies, international organizations as well as civil society representatives.
