Frank Smith has been a South Korea-based correspondent and multimedia journalist for Press TV since 2008. He has covered every major development in and around the Korean Peninsula over the past decade.

Smith has focussed on regional peace and security, reporting on the big stories involving the ongoing tensions between South Korea and the United States, and North Korea.

From South Korea, Smith has also reported on the United Nations Security Council sanctioning of North Korea, and the on-again off-again negotiations to lift those sanctions in exchange for Pyongyang’s denuclearization.

Smith has also covered every major story in South Korea, including multiple reports of the months-long massive demonstrations that resulted in the impeachment, ouster and imprisonment of former president Park Geun-hye.

Smith has also travelled elsewhere to cover major stories for Press TV. In 2018, he reported from Christchurch, New Zealand, following the domestic terror attack on two mosques - which culminated in a short documentary.

In addition to his work for Press TV, Smith is a frequent panelist on South Korean current affairs programs and teaches media and politics at Yonsei University Graduate School of International Studies.
