Rahshan Saglam is an Istanbul-based journalist and TV anchor. She spent more than 12 years working in as a journalist. Over 5 years of that was in war zones namely Syria (2011 to 2012), Yemen and Iraq as a war correspondent.

In 2014 and 2015 she reported for Press TV from the battleground of Iraqi army and Daesh Takfiri terrorists. She was kidnapped by a group affiliated with Daesh in 2015 while covering the clashes in Anbar province, and got shot and injured while covering clashes in Tikrit.

She did numerous live broadcast interviews in the battlefields. Saglam once reported live on-air showing a truck full of explosives sent to her and her team by Daesh Takfiri terrorists, and actual footage was shown live on Press TV.

Saglam also received several life threats from Daesh asking her to stop reporting. In a report produced and aired by Daesh media organization, Saglam was shown as a target of the terrorists. However, she went on in a live broadcast to announce her insistence on continuing to do her job despite all threats.

Before joining Press TV, Saglam worked as a news anchor and host for the Turkish national TV.

She also hosted two political talk shows on Iran’s Sahar TV.

Saglam studied journalism in the Lebanese University. She also holds a university degree in theatre from University of Damascus.
