Following Japan’s decision to release million tonnes of radioactive water waste into the Pacific Ocean, China has summoned Japan's ambassador to stress its "firm opposition" to the move.

After running out of capacity for storing radioactive water in tanks, the Japanese government has decided to release the contaminated water from the Fukushima nuclear power into the Pacific Ocean.
