Police and federal agents searched into the early hours of Wednesday for a man who set off smoke bombs and sprayed fellow passengers with gunfire aboard a New York City subway car, injuring more than 20 people before he fled the scene.

A gunman killed one person, wounded 12 and then apparently killed himself at a Tennessee supermarket on Thursday.

A gunman shouting “Kill me!” opened fire from the steps of New York City’s Cathedral Church of St. John the Divine, but was himself shot dead by police.
