The United Nations Security Council warns South Sudan of sanctions if the peace deal is not implemented.

Talks between the South Sudanese government and rebels in Ethiopia have been suspended without a deal.

The Intergovernmental Authority on Development has given South Sudan’s warring factions until March 5th to sign a comprehensive peace deal and form a transitional government. President Salva Kiir and rebel leader Riek Machar have agreed on a new ceasefire deal to re-dedicate themselves to the cessation of hostilities.
