Turkish foreign minister Mevlut Cavusoglu says Ankara will not support Western sanctions that are unilaterally imposed on countries such as Iran and Russia.

Rescue teams have pulled three people, including a child, alive from the rubble in Turkey, as the death toll from the devastating Turkey-Syria earthquake surpassed 46,000.

In Turkey, following the recent earthquakes, many lives have been saved due to an abundance of heavy lifting machinery, yet in Syria, due to a dearth of equipment as a result of western sanctions, many lives were needlessly lost.

Armenian foreign minister Ararat Mirzoyan made a rare visit to Turkey on Wednesday, underlining a desire to “make peace” with the estranged neighbor in the wake of a devastating quake.
