Another US soldier killed in Iraq amid mounting casualties from Iranian strikes

The US military said on Sunday that another of its soldiers was killed following an Iranian drone attack, as the Islamic Republic’s precise retaliatory operations continue to inflict significant losses on American aggressive forces across the region.

The death comes a day after the Pentagon announced the fatalities of two service members in Jordan on July 17 in Iranian ballistic missile and drone strikes.

“A U.S. service member in northern Iraq was killed in action July 18 during a controlled detonation of unexploded ordnance from a downed Iranian one-way attack drone,” the US Central Command (CENTCOM) said in a social media post.

A second US soldier suffered injuries in the incident and remains under medical care.

The Iranian ballistic missile and drone strikes also left another US service member missing in Jordan on July 17.

US officials confirmed on Sunday the recovery of unidentified human remains at the Jordanian site, with examinations underway to determine if they belong to the missing soldier.

Four other US personnel injured in the Jordan attack were evacuated to hospitals but have since been discharged.

These developments mark a sharp escalation in the costs borne by Washington for its illegal military presence and aggressive policies in West Asia.

Iranian forces, through advanced drone and missile capabilities, have demonstrated their ability to target and degrade US and allied positions used to support the Zionist regime’s criminal actions and regional destabilization efforts.
