Hashd al-Sha’abi calls on Iraqis to attend Ayatollah Khamenei’s funeral en masse

The Popular Mobilization Units have called on the Iraqi people to participate en masse in the funeral of the martyred Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei, which is scheduled for July 8 in the holy cities of Karbala and Najaf.

The Iraqi force, better known by the Arabic name Hashd al-Sha’abi, paid homage to Ayatollah Khamenei in a video clip released on Monday.

“In the coffin lies a person who is the master of his time, a commander of honor and dignity, and a leader as great as the mountains, and a man as vast as the world,” the message said.

“Although the weight of the coffin may be light, the shoulders of all the children of Adam cannot bear the greatness of its occupant.”

“Hurry to welcome this great man, who has made a pilgrimage once again after 57 years. For his sake, shroud cities [of Karbala and Najaf], in black cloth, as this is the last pilgrimage before the final farewell.”

The Popular Mobilization Units finally called on all Iraqi people not to miss this historic event.

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian is scheduled to travel to Iraq to take part in the massive funeral procession for the martyred Leader.

On Monday morning, the funeral procession began in Tehran for Ayatollah Khamenei, along with four family members: Dr. Mesbah al-Hoda, the Leader's son-in-law; Seyedeh Boshra Hosseini Khamenei, his daughter; Zahra Haddad Adel, his daughter-in-law; and Zahra Mohammadi Golpayegani, his granddaughter, who were martyred with him during the US-Israeli attack on February 28.

Having lain in state for two days at the Grand Musalla (prayer hall) in Tehran, the martyred Leader’s coffin was carried in a 12-hour procession through the capital, accompanied by a significant number of mourners.

Mourners convened in Imam Hussein Square in eastern Tehran, where they hung an effigy of US President Donald Trump.

Some individuals held placards featuring images of US Vice President JD Vance, US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, and Benjamin Netanyahu, the prime minister of Israel, accompanied by the phrase: "There will be blood."

Ayatollah Khamenei’s coffin was carried through Tehran

The funeral ceremony for the martyred Leader of the Islamic Revolution and his family members is slated to be held on Tuesday in the Iranian holy shrine city of Qom.

A concluding funeral procession is scheduled for the holy city of Mashhad on Thursday, after which Ayatollah Khamenei will be interred at the holy shrine of Imam Reza (peace be upon him).

Ayatollah Khamenei was martyred during a coordinated US-Israeli attack on Tehran at the beginning of a 40-day war of aggression against the Islamic Republic of Iran.

His assassination triggered widespread condemnation from Iran and its allies, while millions of Iranians and supporters of the Axis of Resistance throughout the region mourned his martyrdom.
