Al-Qassam Brigades says Israeli assassinations fail to break resistance

Abu Ubaida, the spokesman for Hamas resistance movement.

The al-Qassam Brigades says Israel is deluded in thinking it can weaken the Palestinian resistance movement Hamas by assassinating its leaders.

The “account bill” will remain open until the enemy pays it in full, said Abu Ubaida, the spokesman for the Hamas armed wing, in a televised statement on Tuesday.

“Every person of insight and sound nature has realized that we are facing a despicable enemy that possesses no morality, does not abide by agreements, and has misread the scene.”

He said the stream of blood from the Palestinian people has not stopped despite signed agreements.

“The blood of martyred leaders is the fuel that moves our ship to break through hardships,” Abu Ubaida said.

“We still have leaders who were raised on the fields of preparation and steadfastness, seasoned by experience and shaped by wars.”

Addressing the people of Gaza, Abu Ubaida said, “We have followed your words, heard your chants, and witnessed your majestic processions bidding farewell to the martyred leaders. It would be a betrayal of this blood for us to fail you.”

“We will remain faithful to you and to embracing your sons, the fighters. These sacrifices, great and immense as they are, will, by God’s will, bear a clear victory.”

Abu Ubaida recalled the martyred commander Ezzeddin al-Haddad (Abu Suhaib), chief of staff of the Qassam Brigades, noting his central role in planning, preparing and directly supervising the October 7, 2023 operation.

He also highlighted the role of the late commander Mohammed Odeh, who left his mark in every field, from the early stages of military manufacturing to leading military intelligence and playing a key role in planning the October 7 battle.

Call to mediators and the Ummah

On the political and international front, Abu Ubaida said the crimes of Israel place mediators and guarantors of agreements before the moment of truth.

“Silence and standing on the sidelines are no longer acceptable.”

He called for uniting all efforts to restrain the occupation and force it to implement its commitments.

He praised the resistance forces that have inflicted heavy losses on the enemy, as well as the people of Lebanon who have written heroic epics against Zionist arrogance.

Abu Ubaida renewed his call to the Arab and Islamic Ummah to set aside differences and correct their compass toward the one enemy of the nation.

The remarks come after a series of high-profile assassinations by Israel.

On May 27, the Qassam Brigades confirmed that Mohammed Odeh, its newly appointed commander-in-chief, was killed in an Israeli airstrike on Gaza.

Odeh had been involved in Hamas military activities for over 30 years and played a key role in planning operations.

Days earlier, Ezzeddin al-Haddad was also assassinated.

The assassinations are part of Israel’s expanded war on Gaza and Lebanon, which intensified after the US-Israeli aggression on Iran began on February 28.

Despite a Pakistan-brokered ceasefire between Iran and the United States in early April, Israel has continued its strikes on Gaza and southern Lebanon, killing thousands of civilians.
