Israeli Iron Dome launcher destroyed in Hezbollah drone strike

This grab, taken from a video footage released on June 1, 2026, shows an Israeli Iron Dome missile system in the northern sector of the occupied territories moments before it was hit and destroyed by a Hezbollah kamikaze drone.

Fighters from the Hezbollah resistance movement have targeted and destroyed an Israeli Iron Dome launcher deep inside the occupied territories, in response to Israel's ceasefire violations and attacks on southern Lebanese villages.

The media bureau of Hezbollah, in a video footage released on Monday morning, announced the targeting of the missile system deployed at the Biranit military base north of the occupied lands.

"The attack was carried out using an explosive-laden drone," it said.

The video shows a Hezbollah drone flying over the base, which is located on the border between the occupied territories and Lebanon, detecting targets before striking an Iron Dome missile system.

The explosive drone then directly targets the launcher and destroys it.

According to Lebanese media outlets, Hezbollah has recently intensified its attacks on the Iron Dome systems that the Israeli occupation army has stationed along the border areas between the occupied lands and Lebanon, thus preventing the Tel Aviv regime from intercepting missiles fired at various targets.

Hezbollah, in continuation of its operations against the Israeli army on the southern borders of Lebanon and northern occupied lands, has carried out a series of attacks.

These operations included targeting military vehicles, Israeli military gatherings, infrastructure, and enemy radar systems. The Lebanese resistance movement reported accurate and decisive hits on the designated targets.

According to statements issued by Hezbollah, two Namer armored personnel carriers belonging to the Israeli army were targeted and destroyed by Ababil kamikaze drones in the town of Debel in southern Lebanon.

Separately, a gathering of Israeli occupation soldiers in the town of Qaouzah in southern Lebanon was targeted by missile fire.

Also, a gathering of occupation soldiers in the same area, and a group of Israeli troops that had taken up position in a house, were both targeted by Ababil drones and were definitely hit.

An Israeli military radar specifically designed to disrupt the operation of Hezbollah's drones, deployed on the outskirts of Qal'at al-Shaqif, was also destroyed by an Ababil unmanned aircraft.

A military vehicle belonging to Israeli forces was hit and destroyed by a precision-guided missile in the town of Debbine.

Additionally, Hezbollah targeted Israeli military infrastructure in the city of Safed with two missiles.

In another operation, Hezbollah fighters attacked a gathering of Israeli military forces stationed inside a tent in the town of Maroun al-Ras with a group of suicide drones.

Israel has been caught off guard by the scale and intensity of Hezbollah’s rocket and drone attacks, launched in response to the regime’s expanded ground offensive and deadly airstrikes in southern Lebanon.

Hebrew Channel 13 reported on Sunday that the Israeli military was surprised by both the intensity of the attacks and Hezbollah’s decision to alter its response strategy after Israeli forces expanded ground offensives north of the Litani River.

According to the report, the regime’s prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu convened security consultations as northern communities faced continuous alerts, interceptions, and rocket impacts.

On March 2, Hezbollah launched military operations against the Israeli regime in response to its aggression against Iran, its repeated violations of the 2024 ceasefire, and its continued occupation of Lebanese territory in the country’s south.

Following the Iran-US ceasefire on 8 April, Tel Aviv was compelled to accept a ceasefire in Lebanon as well, after Tehran demanded an end to Israeli attacks on Lebanese soil as one of its primary conditions in indirect negotiations with Washington.

The Israeli military, however, quickly resumed its assaults on southern Lebanon, issuing evacuation threats for several areas even after the initial ten-day truce between Tel Aviv and Beirut was extended.

Israeli occupation forces also continue to hold parts of southern Lebanon, where they have imposed a so-called “Yellow Line” — a coercive military buffer resembling the regime’s notorious control measures in the besieged Gaza Strip.

According to Lebanese authorities, since March 2, the Israeli military has killed more than 3,371 people, injuring over 10,129, and displacing over 1.6 million individuals.
