IRGC dismantles weapons smuggling networks affiliated with Israeli regime

Screengrab from footage released by IRGC on May 12, 2026, shows discovered arms smuggled into Iran by Zionist-affiliated networks.

The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) intelligence unit has dismantled five arms and ammunition smuggling networks affiliated with the Israeli regime.

Following intelligence operations targeting the movement of illegal weapons and ammunition, 20 individuals from five terrorist cells responsible for weapons smuggling were identified and detained, the IRGC announced on Tuesday.

More than 50 firearms, 70 kilograms of explosives, 2,000 bullets, and other ammunition were discovered and confiscated from these individuals, the IRGC said.

Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump once again admitted that the US and Israel smuggled weapons to Iran through terrorist cells during the January riots.

Earlier this year, Trump had unequivocally admitted to Washington's intentions to arm militant elements, saying, "We sent guns, a lot of guns …"

His comments came as Iran faced widespread riots and terror activities across the country in late December and early January, during which elements trained and primed by American and Israeli spy agencies roamed the streets and opened fire on civilians and security forces.

Iran has denounced this "long-standing" US policy of "creating, financing, and arming terrorist groups in West Asia and beyond," saying it "constitutes a flagrant violation of the UN Charter and the fundamental principles and rules of international law."

Trump's remarks also follow unprovoked US-Israeli aggression against Iran, which was launched in late February.

The US president announced a ceasefire on April 8 amid decisive Iranian retaliation, but the US continues to target Iran with an illegal naval blockade.
