Israel’s military has issued new displacement orders for residents of more than a dozen villages and towns in southern Lebanon amid widespread violations of a ceasefire agreement by the occupying regime.
In a statement posted on X on Tuesday, the Israeli army ordered the immediate evacuation of residents from at least 16 towns in southern Lebanon.
The statement said residents are “required to evacuate their homes and move away from the specified area toward the Sidon District.”
An Israeli army spokesman specifically called on residents of Ghandoorieh, Borj Qalaouiyeh, Qalaouiyeh, Sawaneh, Jmeijmeh, Safad al-Battikh, Braachit, Shaqra, Aita al-Jabal, Tebnine, Sultaniyeh, Bir al-Sanasil, Dounine, Kherbet Selem, Selaa, and Deir Kifa to immediately evacuate and head northward.
All the areas listed appear to fall outside the so-called “Yellow Line,” a strip of Lebanese territory roughly 10 kilometers deep along the border that remains under Israeli military occupation.
Israel has repeatedly violated a fragile ceasefire in Lebanon agreed earlier this month, with breaches reported on a daily basis.
The Hezbollah resistance movement has responded with barrages of drone and rocket attacks targeting Israeli settlements, military bases, and troop positions.
In two incidents on Tuesday morning, the Israeli military said it launched an interceptor “toward a suspicious aerial target” identified in an area where its forces are operating in southern Lebanon.
The military also announced that one soldier was severely injured and another lightly wounded in an incident a day earlier.
Despite the truce, Israel has continued its strikes across Lebanon.
Last week, Donald Trump said he had sought to prevent Israel from carrying out airstrikes on Lebanon.
Trump had earlier announced a 10-day ceasefire between Israel and Lebanon on April 17, later stating that it would be extended by three weeks.
Benjamin Netanyahu recently said the Israeli military would continue carrying out strikes inside Lebanon despite the truce.
Hezbollah has strongly criticized Netanyahu for accusing the resistance movement of undermining the ceasefire agreement, vowing to continue its “legitimate response” to ongoing Israeli violations.
The group said Israeli breaches have exceeded 500 across land and air, including shelling, demolitions, and the destruction of homes.
Israeli attacks in Lebanon have killed at least 2,509 people and wounded 7,755 since March 2, said the Lebanese Health Ministry.
