Leader’s advisor warns of ‘chain reaction’ to any mischief against Iran, allies

Ali Akbar Velayati, a senior advisor to the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, has warned that any hostile actions against Iran or the Axis of Resistance will trigger a “chain reaction.”

In a post on his X account on Sunday, Velayati said that “the era of imposing security from across the oceans has come to an end,” stressing that regional waterways are now secured by regional countries.

“Today, not only the security of Hormuz and Malacca is guaranteed under the shadow of our power and that of our strategic partners, but the security of Bab el-Mandab is also in the hands of our brothers in Ansarullah,” he said.

“Every mischief will have a chain reaction,” the advisor warned.

The remarks come in the wake of the US-Israeli aggression against Iran, which began on February 28 with airstrikes that assassinated senior Iranian officials and commanders, including the Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei.

The Iranian armed forces responded by launching daily missile and drone operations targeting locations in the Israeli-occupied territories as well as US military bases and assets across the region.

Furthermore, Iran retaliated against the strikes by closing the Strait of Hormuz, which resulted in a significant increase in oil prices and its by-products. Yemen’s Ansarullah has also declared readiness to close Bab el-Mandab Strait if the US-Israeli axis resumes the war after an April 8 ceasefire mediated by Pakistan.

Elsewhere in his remarks, Velayati derided a meeting hosted by Paris to advance plans for a multinational maritime force with the professed aim of securing the Strait of Hormuz.

“In the ridiculous show of the Paris meeting, England and France, if they are concerned about maritime security, should think about La Manche and ending the old wound in Gibraltar,” he wrote.

He also expressed appreciation for “Madrid’s independent and wise positions” in opposing the war against Iran.

The meeting took place at the Elysee presidential palace in Paris on Friday, chaired by French President Emmanuel Macron and British Prime Minister Keir Starmer.
