Iran’s Media Basij Organization says at least eleven journalists and media activists have been martyred in Israeli strikes on Iran and Lebanon over the past few weeks.
The organization said in a statement on Monday that five Iranian reporters and photojournalists were among the fatalities, while the remainder were affiliated with pro-resistance media outlets.
Among the martyred Iranian media personnel were former editor-in-chief of the official IRNA news agency Dr. Kamal Kharrazi, late spokesman for the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Brigadier General Mohammad Ali Naeini, and former Tasnim News Agency correspondent Masoud Salimi.
The pro-resistance journalists included Beirut-based Al Mayadeen television correspondent Fatima Fatouni, and a journalist for the Hezbollah-affiliated Al-Manar television channel.
The Media Basij Organization strongly condemned the US-Israeli attacks, emphasizing that the path of reporting the truth will continue more decisively and determinedly than ever.
