An Israeli airstrike has hit a police checkpoint in Bureij camp in central Gaza early Saturday, killing at least six people and injuring several others, medics say.

It was not immediately clear whether all those killed were police members, and there was no immediate comment from the Israeli military.

Israel and Hamas reached a US-mediated ceasefire agreement last October aimed at ending the occupying regime’s genocidal war on Gaza.

However, Israel has repeatedly violated the agreement through continual attacks that have killed and wounded thousands of Palestinians.

Various areas of Gaza, including Khan Younis, are being subjected to artillery shelling, repeated attacks on displacement shelters, gunfire from military vehicles and tanks, and continuous drone overflights.

Since the signing of the agreement, at least 700 Palestinians have been martyred by Israeli army fire, while four Israeli soldiers have been killed by resistance fighters.
