Iranian commando units composed of the army’s 65th Airborne Brigade, known as NOHED, are prepared to deliver a heavy blow against Americans in a combined operation with the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC )’s Saberin Special Forces Brigade, a report says.

According to Mehr news agency, assessments indicate that following the onset of a second phase of the US-Israeli adventurism, Iranian special forces and commando units have undertaken extensive planning for a “hard, swift and painful” strike against US targets.

Iranian military planners consider operations such as the capture of American officials, military personnel and business figures among the most effective measures, drawing on precedents from incidents involving US nationals in the 1980s.

The report added that the potential geographic scope of such operations could extend from Iraq’s Kurdistan region to Persian Gulf countries including Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates and Kuwait.
