In the early hours of Tuesday, Dr. Saeed Shamghadri, a distinguished scholar and associate professor at Iran University of Science and Technology, was martyred in an Israeli-American attack that targeted his home in northern Tehran.
Dr. Shamghadri's son, Mohammad and daughter, Reyhaneh, were also killed in the attack, which came on the 24th day of the unprovoked and illegal war of aggression against the people of Iran.
He served as an associate professor and research deputy in the Faculty of Electrical Engineering at Iran University of Science and Technology, a premier research institution and university of engineering and science in the Iranian capital.
His articles were published in some of the leading scientific journals across the world.
The university issued an official statement mourning the loss of its esteemed faculty member and his children, describing it as a profound tragedy that has filled the academic community with grief and outrage.
The statement paid tribute to Dr. Shamghadri's legacy as a prominent scientific and administrative figure from a family of martyrs, who devoted his life to advancing knowledge, training generations of experts, and serving the Islamic Republic.
"Ultimately, on the path of those same ideals, he attained the great blessing of martyrdom," the statement read.

"The martyrdom of this esteemed professor alongside his children is yet another testament to the depth of the enemy's malice and the oppression endured by the Iranian nation."
Gholamhossein Mozaffari, Governor of Khorasan Razavi province, also issued a message of condolence following the martyrdom of Dr. Shamghadri and his children.
In his statement, the governor described martyrdom as an honor reserved for the sincere servants of God, noting that the martyred professor sacrificed his life in the pursuit of localizing the defense industry and safeguarding national security.
"The honor of defending the nation's security is a double blessing for the martyrs of this land," Mozaffari said, "who sacrificed their precious lives to protect the security and well-being of the dear people."
The assassination of the Iranian lecturer comes as Iranian retaliatory strikes have decimated military targets in the occupied territories, as well as US military bases in the region.
The Israeli regime has a history of assassinating Iranian scientists. During the 12-day war in June last year, it targeted several scientists teaching at universities across the country.
