Armed factions within the Iraqi Islamic Resistance have announced a financial incentive for information on US military and intelligence personnel operating in Iraq and the wider region.
In a statement on Friday, the groups said, “The tightening of the noose around the Americans on the ground has led to a reduction in their security options."
"This applies to all specializations, whether they belong to the US military or to intelligence and espionage agencies operating in Iraq and the region. As a result, they have been forced to adopt alternative [civilian] locations which they believe are safer," they added.
The factions announced that a reward of 150 million Iraqi dinars ($114,500) would be offered to anyone, including Iraqis and foreign residents in the country, who provided accurate advance intelligence that directly leads to the execution of arrest operations or the identification of high-level US military or intelligence officials.
The statement emphasized that information should be delivered through secure channels at the headquarters of the resistance factions across Iraq.
It also assured that the complete confidentiality of the information source and protection of their identity would be guaranteed in accordance with strict security procedures.
A day earlier, the factions announced the death of the entire six-strong crew of a US Air Force refueling aircraft that had been shot down by their members.
