Hezbollah, Islamic Jihad vow support for new Leader of Islamic Revolution 

Hezbollah and Palestinian Islamic Jihad leaders have congratulated Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei on his election as Leader of the Islamic Revolution, wishing him success in advancing the aspirations of the oppressed people around the world.

In a message to Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei, Hezbollah Secretary General Sheikh Naim Qassem emphasized that his election is a continuation of the path of Imam Khomeini and Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei, which aims to preserve Iran's independence and Islamic identity, and to confront oppression and aggression.

Noting that Hezbollah was inspired by the Islamic Revolution of Iran, Sheikh Qasem stressed that his movement would remain loyal to the new leadership of the Islamic Republic and will continue to support the Axis of Resistance in confronting oppression and occupation.

Sheikh Qassem also renewed his allegiance to Iran’s new Leader on behalf of himself, Hezbollah’s Shura Council, and the leadership and fighters of the Islamic Resistance in Lebanon, wishing him success in realizing the aspirations of the Iranian nation and oppressed people worldwide.

Islamic Jihad Secretary-General Ziyad al-Nakhalah also extended his felicitation to Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei on his election as the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, noting that this comes amid “difficult and complex circumstances” as Iran faces “an unjust aggression that began with the treacherous assassination of the Hussein of the era, the martyr Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei” and a number of the country’s “courageous” figures.

However, he stressed that the aggression conducted by the “satanic” American-Israeli alliance will fail due to “the steadfastness” of the Iranian people “and under your blessed and courageous leadership.”

Nakhalah also stressed that the Palestinians and the free people across the world support the Islamic Republic.

“We assure you that all the free peoples of the world stand with you in the face of this unjust aggression and see in your steadfastness, your fighting, and your victory, a victory for them and for their just causes, foremost among them the struggling Palestinian people, who stand as fighters all the time in the face of America and ‘Israel’, just like their brothers, the brave resistance fighters in Lebanon.”

Nakhalah wished Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei and the Islamic Republic victory against the enemies.

“I pray to Allah to protect you, protect the Islamic Republic, and grant you a mighty victory.”

The US and Israel started a fresh round of aerial aggression on Iran on February 28, some eight months after they carried out unprovoked attacks on the country.

The attacks led to the martyrdom of Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei.

Iran began to swiftly retaliate against the strikes by launching barrage of missiles and drone attacks on the Israeli-occupied territories as well as on US bases in regional countries.

The 88-member Assembly of Experts on Sunday elected Ayatollah Seyyed Mojtaba Khamenei as the successor to the martyred Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Imam Khamenei.
