Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf has strongly denounced the assassination of Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei in a US-Israeli airstrike, vowing that the country's armed forces will deliver such painful retaliatory blows that the enemies will beg for mercy.
“We will take revenge on the Americans and Israelis. You have crossed our red line. We will strike you with such terrible blows that you will beg for mercy,” Qalibaf stated on Sunday morning as he delivered a televised speech.
He emphasized the continuity of leadership, national unity, and determination to uphold the path of the Islamic Revolution.
“We have prepared ourselves for all scenarios, and even plans have been drawn up for the time when Imam Khamenei’s martyrdom arrives,” Qalibaf said.

The top Iranian legislator noted that with the formation of a transitional leadership council, national cohesion and defensive capabilities would thrive further.
He said retaliatory operations by the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran against strategic Israeli sites in the occupied territories, as well as US bases across West Asia, had demonstrated operational capacity and cohesion, and astonished military analysts and experts.
Addressing the United States and Israel directly, Qalibaf warned that crossing Iran’s red lines would carry consequences.
He also vowed that Iran would never allow its sovereignty or the aspirations of free peoples to be undermined.
Ayatollah Khamenei and some members of his family were martyred in the Israeli-American aggression on Saturday. Some high-ranking military commanders were also martyred.
