In letter to Araghchi, Hamas outlines repeated Israeli violations of Gaza ceasefire

Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi (L) speaks with Muhammad Darwish, head of the Hamas leadership council in Doha, Qatar, December 07, 2025.

Hamas has provided a detailed report to Iran outlining repeated Israeli violations of the Gaza ceasefire agreement, urging mediators and the international community to compel Israel to fulfill its commitments under the deal.

In a letter addressed to Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, Muhammad Darwish, head of the Hamas leadership council, provided a complete report on the latest status of the implementation of the ceasefire agreement in Gaza.

Darwish stressed Hamas’s full commitment to the ceasefire deal and outlined clear and repeated violations by Israel.

These, he said, include daily attacks on Palestinian areas, the continued killing of civilians—particularly women and children—detention of Palestinians, severe restrictions on the entry of humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip, obstruction of operations at the Rafah crossing, limitations on the movement of Palestinian civilians, and prevention of the reconstruction of vital infrastructure.

The Hamas official underscored the need for serious efforts by mediators and the international community to compel Israel to fulfill its obligations under the agreement.

He called for an immediate halt to the killing of Palestinians and violations of their rights, adherence to provisions related to humanitarian aid delivery to Gaza residents, lifting restrictions at the Rafah crossing and facilitating travel, allowing the entry of fuel, equipment, and machinery necessary for reconstruction, compliance with humanitarian norms, and an end to the torture and mistreatment of Palestinian prisoners.

In January, the White House published the names of the Gaza Strip’s so-called “Board of Peace” members and the head of the National Committee for the Administration of Gaza (NCAG), marking the launch of the second phase of US President Donald Trump’s 20-point plan for Gaza.

Trump has described it as an initiative aimed at stabilizing and rebuilding Gaza following the ceasefire that took effect as part of his plan in October 2025.

Trump chairs the board, which includes key members such as US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Trump’s special envoy Steve Witkoff, the US president’s son-in-law Jared Kushner, and former UK prime minister Tony Blair.

Many goals outlined in Trump’s 20-point plan have not fully materialized on the ground.

Phase one was intended to halt fighting immediately, facilitate the exchange of Israeli captives and Palestinian abductees, establish boundaries for Israeli withdrawal from parts of Gaza, enable unrestricted humanitarian aid entry, and reopen the Rafah crossing between Gaza and Egypt.

The Israeli military has killed more than 600 Palestinians and injured over 1,600 others since the conclusion of the ceasefire, averaging nearly five deaths per day, according to Palestinian officials.

Since October 7, 2023, the Israeli genocidal war has killed more than 72,000 Palestinians and injured nearly 172,000 more.
