The Islamic Propagation Coordination Council has issued a call for the Iranian public to attend a major commemorative ceremony on Tuesday in Tehran marking the 40th day since the martyrdom of individuals during the terrorist attacks of January 8 and 9.
According to the council's announcement, the ceremony is dedicated to honoring the “pure blood of martyrs and the patience of their families” who contributed to protecting security in the country.
The council described the events of early January as a "hybrid and cognitive operation" designed by enemies of the state to undermine the psychological security of Iranian society.
The statement noted that while certain elements sought to exploit legitimate public grievances through the use of takfiri and terrorist agents, the revolutionary rallies of the Iranian people on January 11 successfully neutralized these intricate plots.
The statement expressed that the presence of various social strata would provide solace to the bereaved families of the martyrs and ensure a national deterrence against future conspiracies.
In a separate statement, the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) emphasized that this 40th-day anniversary is a strategic turning point for reviewing a profound confrontation in the "war of wills."
The IRGC characterized the incidents of January 8 and 9, 2026, as a sophisticated plot aimed at creating organized chaos and instability to pave the way for foreign aggression and the eventual disintegration of the country.
The IRGC statement further detailed the nature of the hybrid war, saying that field operations by violent elements and armed terrorists were guided by the Mossad and the CIA.
These operations were combined with psychological warfare, media manipulation, and attempts to disrupt the governance cycle.
The body asserted that the strategy involved creating fear, destroying infrastructure, and staging "killing projects" to incite public emotions, particularly among the younger generation.
In early January, Trump had threatened Iran with attacks if the country harmed what he called “peaceful protesters.”

Only days later, on January 8 and 9, armed groups launched coordinated attacks on police stations, military bases, and other sensitive sites, as well as civilian infrastructure, in several cities.
Iranian officials say the attacks were designed to create mass casualties and destabilize urban centers across the country.
Officials have repeatedly criticized Western media outlets for circulating false casualty figures and blaming the Iranian government.
Some Western reports have claimed up to 30,000 deaths following what they describe as “peaceful protests.”
However, official Iranian records show 3,117 people were killed in the riots, including 2,427 civilians and security personnel killed by terrorists.
