The Israeli producer and creator of the anti-Iran propaganda television series “Tehran” has been found dead in the Greek capital of Athens.

Dana Eden, 52, was found lifeless in an Athens hotel room on February 15 by her brother, who began searching for her after she failed to respond to messages, the Greek police said.

The case is being treated as a suicide based on evidence and testimonies, while authorities have ordered an autopsy as the investigation continues.

Some reports said Greek investigators had found pills at the scene and bruises on the victim's body.

However, the production company Dana and Shula Productions said in a statement that "rumors suggesting a criminal or politically motivated death are false and unfounded."

It also urged the media and the public to "avoid publishing unverified claims and to act with responsibility and sensitivity.”

Israeli media said Eden had traveled to Greece to closely oversee the filming of the fourth season of “Tehran,” which follows a Mossad hacker-agent sent on a mission to Iran to disrupt the country’s peaceful nuclear program.

Meanwhile, Greek outlet Proto Thema reported that the Israeli producer had been staying at the hotel since February 4.

Eden ran Dana and Shula Productions over the past 18 years alongside producer Shula Spiegel.

In November 2021, the anti-Iran series “Tehran” won the International Emmy Award for best drama series for its first season.

Israeli culture minister Miki Zohar commented on Eden's death, calling her "one of the most prominent and influential producers in the Israeli television industry."
