The Israeli military has carried out a new series of strikes on several areas in southern Lebanon, in ongoing violations of the ceasefire agreement with the Lebanese resistance movement Hezbollah.

Israeli warplanes bombed the outskirts of Basalya and Mlikh, as well as the al-Raihan Heights in the Jezzine district of the South governorate, on Saturday.

In the same district, an airstrike struck the Jabbour Heights and the outskirts of Sojod. The attacks also reached Wadi Burghuz in Hasbaya.

Airstrikes targeted the area between Houmin and Deir al-Zahrani in the Nabatieh governorate. Israeli fighter jets also hit the Safi Heights, Mlita, and Sojod in the Iqlim al-Tuffah region. Several of these areas were struck more than once.

Earlier, an Israeli drone dropped explosive devices on a residential house in the Kasayer neighborhood of Mays al-Jabal, near the border with occupied Palestine. The strike hit a civilian home.

Last Sunday, a drone strike targeted a vehicle in al-Teeri in the Bint Jbeil district, killing one person.

On the same day, Israeli forces advanced into two villages along Lebanon’s border and detonated three buildings. Gunfire also targeted two nearby towns.

Israeli troops later entered the center of Kfar Kila in the Marj’youn district and blew up a residential building.

They also moved into the outskirts of Odaisseh toward the Hounin Valley, where they demolished two homes.

Israel began its military aggression against Lebanon on October 8, 2023. On October 1, 2024, Israeli ground forces invaded southern Lebanon, marking the sixth Israeli invasion of the country since 1978.

On November 27, 2024, Hezbollah and Israel announced a “cessation of hostilities” and pledged to implement United Nations Security Council Resolution 1701.

The resolution calls for Hezbollah’s withdrawal from south of the Litani River and for Israeli forces to withdraw from Lebanese territory.

It also states that no armed presence other than the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) and the Lebanese army should remain south of the Litani River.

Israel violated the agreement shortly after it was announced. It occupied five strategic points inside Lebanese territory and has continued almost daily attacks since November 2024.
