The sheer indifference of the world to the ongoing genocide of Palestinians in Gaza largely stems from the fact that the world’s largest corporations support Israel, says an analyst.
Agnieszka Piwar, an independent journalist, documentary filmmaker, and author based in Poland, said in an interview with the Press TV website that global corporations finance both the media and a significant portion of political elites, shaping the narrative and limiting the scope of permissible criticism.
“As a result, we are witnessing systemic self-censorship: journalists and politicians remain silent or downplay Israel’s crimes, even though the tragedy in Gaza is documented in real time and visible to the entire world — and anyone who dares to speak the truth, myself included, faces pressure and ostracism,” she said.
Piwar is the author of “The Holocaust of the Palestinians” (Holokaust Palestyńczyków in Polish), a book that chronicles the plight of people living under brutal military occupation and traces the roots of the genocide currently unfolding in Gaza.
Published by Wydawnictwo 3DOM in 2025, the book amplifies Palestinian voices through vivid testimonies from those whose lives have been shaped by resistance to the Israeli occupation.
Writing the book, she said, has been a form of her “personal protest against the lies and manipulation in the media.”

“As an independent journalist, I could not stand by while innocent people were dying in the Gaza Strip, while journalists and politicians in the West brazenly lied, spouting nonsense that Israel has the right to self-defense,” he noted.
“In my book, I repeatedly emphasize that it is Israel that occupies Palestine, that Israel is the aggressor, and that the Palestinians are the victims.”
Piwar said she has spoken with people – direct witnesses of wars and genocides – who have become her “eyes on the world,” adding that the same was true in the case of the Gaza Strip, which she was unable to reach despite repeated attempts.
“I was arrested in Egypt along with others who were trying to break the blockade of humanitarian aid,” she told the Press TV website.
“But I did speak with people who had been in Gaza when the hell unleashed by Israel began. My book, The Holocaust of the Palestinians, was therefore primarily based on conversations with Palestinians—both those living in occupied Palestine and in the Diaspora abroad.”
Part of the book, she asserted, is also devoted to analyzing how the media, journalists, and politicians distort the reality of this colossal human tragedy.

On how the genocide in Gaza differs from other wars she has written about, the Polish journalist and author said we live in an “era of advanced social media.”
“Anyone can see what is happening on the ground in Gaza — how Israeli bombs fall on hospitals, schools, and places of worship, where innocent civilians are dying. What shocks me most is that, despite this widespread knowledge of Palestinian children dying from hunger and untreated wounds, there has been no decisive response,” said Piwar.
“Israel has once again shown that it does not respect any agreements or arrangements. It seems that the Zionists hold the world’s leaders, including Donald Trump, in their grip. Let people finally realize how dangerous the Zionists are. The impunity of the Zionists should serve as a warning signal for the rest of the world — today Palestine, tomorrow others.”
She said Israel pursues a policy based on “systematic violence against Palestinians.”
“Therefore, in my opinion, Israel should cease to exist, as it is not a state in the legal sense, but a terrorist entity created by Zionists who rely on a satanic ideology. The land of Palestine should be returned to the Palestinians,” the author told the Press TV website.
“The houses from which the Zionists expelled the Palestinians should be returned to their owners. If the Jews living in Palestine do not have the killing of innocent civilians on their conscience and would like to remain in that country, they should be allowed to do so. However, all those responsible should be brought before an international tribunal and tried for the unlawful detention and torture of Palestinians in Israeli prisons, for war crimes and crimes against humanity, and then punished.”
