The Ansarullah resistance movement has warned the United States against the deployment of the USS Abraham Lincoln aircraft carrier and guided missile destroyers accompanying it in the strategic Red Sea and the Arabian Sea, stressing that Sana’a views such a measure as a threat to Yemen’s sovereignty.

The group, in a statement issued on Wednesday, pointed to its January 2024 attack in the Gulf of Aden on the Marshall Islands-flagged tanker Marlin Luanda after the British vessel violated a naval blockade on Israel.

The naval siege took effect in response to the Tel Aviv regime’s genocidal campaign against the Gaza Strip.

Ansarullah stated that Yemeni military units are fully prepared to confront the US aircraft carrier group in the waters of the region.

The movement further noted that it will not allow any US military vessels to approach the Red Sea and the Arabian Sea, and considers these actions as a threat to Yemen’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.

It emphasized that the Yemeni Armed Forces have increased their preparedness and capacity to respond effectively to any form of aggression in light of recent US military moves, especially as the US carrier strike group is deployed to West Asia.

Meanwhile, Brigadier General Aziz Rashid, a military expert close to Ansarullah, said Yemeni naval forces are closely monitoring enemy moves in the Red Sea and the Arabian Sea, and will take action to thwart any attempt to deploy a task force led by the USS Abraham Lincoln aircraft carrier.

He recalled that the aircraft carrier had been targeted in the past, stressing that the strikes were launched after the US carried out operations against Sana’a in response to Yemen's support for Palestine.

Rashid stated that Yemen now has advanced naval capabilities to intercept and target hostile vessels, and the country's armed forces are at the apex of defense preparedness to repel any aggression and target enemy ships in both seas.

The military expert highlighted that Yemeni forces are currently far stronger than in the past, and are fully prepared to deliver “strategic surprises” to any threat posed by the US and Israel.

He also warned that any potential confrontation between Iran, the United States, and Israel could bring about an inflammatory situation throughout the region.
