Senior cmdr. strongly warns Trump following rhetorical remarks concerning Leader

A senior Iranian military commander has strongly warned Donald Trump following the US president’s rhetorical remarks concerning Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei.

Rear Admiral Habibollah Sayyari, deputy chief of the Iranian Army for Coordination, made the comments on Wednesday with regard to Trump’s recent remarks calling for an end to Ayatollah Khamenei’s leadership.

“Trump was dead wrong,” the commander asserted, echoing similar strong reactions by high-ranking Iranian officials to the US president’s rhetoric that came amid the latter’s repeated verbal threats targeting the Islamic Republic.

On Tuesday, General Abolfazl Shekarchi, spokesperson for the General Staff of the Armed Forces, cautioned that any hostile action directed towards the Leader would result in a devastating military retaliation. “We do not attach significant importance to Trump’s clamor,” the official stated.

Prior to that, President Masoud Pezeshkian had warned that any attack against Ayatollah Khamenei would amount to a “full-fledged war” with the Iranian nation.

In late December, Iran began witnessing sporadic economic protests that were ensued by the US president’s alleging that Washington would stage fresh military aggression against the Islamic Republic in the event of what he called Tehran’s confronting the protesters.

Earlier in January, numerous riotous elements infiltrated the protests in a move that was confirmed by Iranian intelligence to have been supported by and coordinated with the United States’ and the Israeli regime’s spying apparatuses.

Iranian intelligence and security forces sprang into action, robustly confronting the trend by rounding up terror ringleaders and seizing substantial volumes of arms, confrontation that promptly reestablished calm throughout the nation.

Referring to the Islamic Republic’s approach towards the United States and the Zionist regime and their role in the recent acts of sedition, Sayyari said, “They tried in various ways to weaken the Islamic Republic, but the people’s epic action on January 12 and their insight neutralized the enemies’ plot against the country’s Islamic establishment and its Islamic Revolution.”

The commander was referring to the day when millions took to the streets across the Islamic Republic to voice strong support for the Leader and vow sustained preservation of the country’s security and national sovereignty in the face of Washington’s and Tel Aviv’s plots.

Sayyari also credited Iran’s Armed Forces with having increased their capabilities following the duo’s imposed war on the country last June, declaring, “Rest assured that we are becoming better and stronger than before with each passing day.”
